Using the Ecos Reservation Module

To use the reservation functionality in Ecos, all reservable objects must be part of an object group. However, Ecos does not allow individual users to be linked directly to an object group. Instead, user groups in Ecos are used to grant access to object groups.

To make this work within Ident2Be (I2B), we need to establish a connection between a member and the appropriate Ecos user group. This is done by mapping an I2B location group to an Ecos user group.

Because each Ecos user group is linked to an object group, this setup effectively connects an I2B location group to an Ecos object group — via the mapped user group. This allows members in I2B to make reservations for objects in Ecos.

 Important:
The setup of object groups and user groups in Ecos must be done manually.
Each user group in Ecos should correspond to exactly one object group (i.e., user group = object group).
